In Ontario, there are many assets that people can keep when they file a Consumer Proposal (i.e. ‘legal’ Debt Consolidation), or Bankruptcy.

They include Exempt assets (e.g. cars, most RRSPs, furniture and personal affects) based on Ontario legislation and all assets fully encumbered (e.g. house, high value vehicles, etc.). Come in for a FREE initial meeting should you need to discuss these matters further, as there are other factors, such as co-signers, etc., that need to be understood.
